Tokyo Jazz Festival
Since its inception in 2002, the Tokyo Jazz Festival has brought together many of the top jazz performers from Japan and around the world. The prestigious festival’s guiding mission is to encourage cultural crossovers and instill a love of jazz in new generations.

Herbie serves as the musical director of the Tokyo Jazz Festival, and his group the Headhunters have played the festival on numerous occasions. The Headhunters’ lineup for their 2005 performance at the festival featured Herbie, Terri Lyne Carrington, Roy Hargrove, Munyungo Jackson, Lionel Loueke, Marcus Miller and Wah Wah Watson.
