Wrapping up 2008 on the road with Herbie
Herbie has toured heavily behind his latest release, the Grammy-winning "River: The Joni Sessions," and after wowing European audiences in the summer, he's back to finish off the year.
The winter band features Terence Blanchard, James Genus, Lionel Loueke, Gregoire Maret and Kendrick Scott, and early reviews report that Herbie and back have locked in to create some amazing chemistry.
One special event will pull Herbie back to the U.S. in late October. Herbie will take part in an all-star concert honoring the great B.B. King at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood on October 26th, joining Bono and The Edge from U2, Terence Blanchard, Terri Lynne, Carrington, Robert Cray, Keb' Mo', Wayne Shorter, Cassandra Wilson and
others.
Following the tour, Herbie will take a short break before hitting the high seas with the great Marcus Miller to christen the inaugural Playboy Jazz Cruise.
